Friendly Schools and Families Program
In 2005, Alawa School joined the Friendly Schools and Families Program.
About the program.
This program aims to decrease bullying by developing students' social skills and resilience.
It is the result of six years' research by the Child Health Promotion Research Unit
based at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia.
It focusses on:
- The whole school community to build their commitment and capacity to address bullying
- Families through awareness-raising and skill-based self-efficacy activities
- Assisting students and teachers through teacher training and learning support materials
