During the school holidays in April, July and October, Alawa Primary School hosts the Alawa Harvest Holiday Cooking program. This is a unique holiday program created so students could enjoy an extended 3 hour cooking experience in our purpose built kitchen facilities. 

Students are treated to an experience that includes a tour of the award winning Alawa School Farm to pick fresh seasonal produce to be used in their cooking lesson allowing children to learn how to identify and harvest and take food from paddock to plate. 

Our experienced head chef Miss Elsa and her superstar assistants have an extensive knowledge of tropical produce and students are treated to a full culinary experience culminating in a shared lunch. 

A wide array of tasty meals are whipped up by our students such as minestrone soup, feta and prosciutto rolls, marinated chicken legs with wing beans, braised pork and beans, bacon and egg pie, homemade sausage rolls, lemon loaf, chocolate biscuits and strawberry  & mango ice-cream.
