Teacher Exchange Program
Ms Hammond is off to Canada!
Ms Athena Hammond who has been at Alawa since late 2013 has been successful in her
application to undertake a teacher exchange to Canada for 2020. Our Principal, Miss Cartwright, took part in such an exchange back in 1997 and cannot speak more highly of the opportunity for Ms Hammond to learn, experience and thrive in a different education system and country and for us to embrace a Canadian teacher here at Alawa for the 2020 school year.
Ms Hammond will be teaching at Big Rock School, Okotoks, Alberta. We will have Ms Stephanie Skory joining us at Alawa. I am sure we will enjoy hearing from Ms Hammond through her year.
