Before School: Breakfast & Sports Program
At Alawa Primary School, we know that many families need flexible options for before and after school care. We are proud to offer programs that support children’s wellbeing, learning and play in a safe and inclusive environment.
Operated by Alawa Primary School (Transition – Year 6)
Our Before School Program helps children start the day in a positive way — with a healthy breakfast and active play.
Program Details
- Time:
7:30 am – 8:00 am
- Location:
Drop-off at
The Hub; students move to the Quadrangle at 8:00 am
- Includes:
Cereal, fruit and supervised games or sports activities
Important Information
- Registration is required.
- Parents must walk students into The Hub and hand them over to the staff member on duty.
- At 8:00 am, students transition to the main playground under staff supervision.
When:
Each term, Weeks 3–9
Cost:
$20 per week, per student
Casual attendance $5 per day

Operated on-site at Alawa, our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care are proudly managed by Territory Child Care Group (TCCG), a local not-for-profit organisation.

Program Highlights

Opening Hours
After School Care: Monday – Friday, school finish – 6:00 pm
Vacation Care: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm -During School holiday periods
Darwin Language Centre (DLC)
Located in Ludmilla, the Darwin Language Centre offers after school language programs for children aged 5 years and older.
Program Details
A bus/transport service is available if 9 or more children from one school attend.
Supervision and a snack are provided on arrival, with classes running from
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
