Student Voice and Agency

At Alawa Primary School, we believe students should have a say in their education. We provide meaningful opportunities for students to share their ideas, inform decisions and influence activities across the school. By listening to our students, we ensure our programs remain engaging, relevant and connected to their needs.

Developing Leaders

Leadership is more than a role — it’s a skill we nurture in all students. At Alawa, students are encouraged to:

  • Take part in classroom and whole-school decision-making

  • Lead by example through respect, encouragement, pride and personal best

  • Build confidence by taking on responsibilities

  • Develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills

How We Support Student Leadership

Information about student leadership opportunities is shared directly with students and displayed in classrooms for easy reference. These opportunities help every child find their voice and grow as a leader in their own way.
