For Parents
Voluntary Parent Contributions
At Alawa, parent contributions play an important role in enriching the learning experiences we provide. These funds help us maintain high-quality programs, resources and facilities that directly benefit every child.
Primary Contributions (Transition – Year 6)
$175 annually – supporting:
Library & Learning Resources – $60
- Library books ($10)
- Literacy resources ($30)
- Numeracy resources ($20)
IT resources – $30
- iPads, Chromebooks, TV screens, and classroom devices
Online Subscriptions – $40
- Xuno, Elastik, Soundwaves, Typing Tournament (includes home access)
- Farm Program – $45
Kitchen Contribution (Years 3–6 only)
$100 annually
($25 per term / approx. $2.50 per week)
- Fresh and dry ingredients
- Electrical equipment, pots and pans
- Crockery and cutlery
Preschool Contributions
$160 annually – supporting:
- Library, literacy, and numeracy resources – $30
- Art, craft, portfolios, drawing tools, toys and construction – $70
- Farm Program – $30
- Online subscriptions – $30 (Xuno, KIDDO)
Back to School Vouchers
In Term One, each year the NT Government provides a
$200 Back to School Voucher for every student. Below are suggested ways families can use these funds.
Preschool
Uniform package
– 2 Preschool T-shirts + 1 Bucket Hat ($75, includes $2 discount)
Swimming
(part payment) – $20
Extra-curricular items – $45
- Outdoor equipment
- Toys, games, consumables
- Stationery, paint, and art supplies
Visiting performances
/ Artists in Schools – $25
Playground equipment upgrades – $35
Transition - Year 6
Uniform package $70
- T-shirt (Red or House) – usually $40 (discounted)
- Shorts – $25

Class Pack $50
- Stationery (pencils, textas, scrapbooks) – $40
